Tattoos

Last night the kids got their airbrush tattoos Aimee choose an I heart my dog, Gemma chose dolphins and Josh a big black spider.
They all think their really cool...lol

Vigo

Did not get off yesterday at Vigo, the kids weren't interested.
Two weeks is definitely to much without parents, Aimee informed us that on Friday at 3pm we will be in the English channel, not far from home.
They have really enjoyed the trip, but as I say it's just two long.
Anyway they played crazy golf again yesterday, and Nic took part, so this time Gemma didn't finish third....she finished forth....lol.
But she's now pleased with scoring the most points.
Aimee and Josh both felt very grown up when I let them go down the Royal Promenade and back on their own.

Lisbon

Yesterday we docked at Lisbon and decided to have a walk off the ship so the kids could get some presents.
We had planned on just staying local to the ship but ended up walking to Lisbon town centre, which was about a 3 mile walk!
It was a lovely day so it was a nice walk, we got a taxi back though,I don't think the kids could have walked another step lol.
We got most of the presents in a little souvenir shop just outside the town centre.
I think we made the guys day as the kids spent almost £40.
At one point Aimee was undecided about which bell to buy for her gran until she saw the difference in price one was €3 and the other was €8.
She actually shouted "eight euros?" "I'm not paying that" and bought the cheaper one, the bloke who owned the shop was laughing his head off.
When we got back to the ship I took the kids to play crazy golf again, with the same result as the other day, but no tears from Gemma....lol.
Thank god she doesn't understand scoring in golf, she's happy that she scored more points than the others.
It was formal night last night so we had some proper photos done.

Crazy Golf such a cruel sport.

Well yesterday we played crazy golf on deck thirteen.
The players were all from the Wigan area, we had Aimee aim straight Melia, Joshua the Jugganaught Hooton-Forester and finally, Gemma the gladiator forester.
It was a really tightly contested game, with just teen strokes dividing first and second place.
Which was between Aimee and Joshua respectively.
And finishing a distant third, despite all my efforts to help her by moving the ball was Gemma.
When I announced the scores after the game I tried to make third place sound great, but to no avail, Gemma promptly burst into tears.
Which I managed to stop by telling her that even though she finished third, she'd scored more points than the other two.
I didn't realise that crazy golf was so stressful... Lol.
I think we'll stick to the pool in future......

God it's hot!!

As I said in the last post we spent the day once again by the pool, but we all went back to the cabins at about 1.30 as it was so hot.
Later in the evening we went to the concierge lounge for a couple of drinks, then Sheila took the kids to see the show, which is a brilliant one called "Once upon a time".
I went down to the sports bar to watch the football, it was Everton vs Man Utd and incase anyone missed it (Ronald&Sarah ) lol, Everton won WOO HOO!!
As I've said before the kids are having a great time, but now they are starting to miss mum and dad.
I think two weeks away with out them, is probably to much at their ages, they are definitely on a count down to Saturday now.....

Alicante

Today we were in Alicante, and we got off the ship (woo hoo! ) but only to buy some pool shoes for the kids, as their feet were getting scratched by the bottom of the pool.
We walked from the ship to the town which took about 20 mins, but we got a taxi back because it was so hot.
On the way in to the town we walked along the sea wall, and Gemma explained to me that the big boulders in the sea were called rock pools, because the waves made bubbles in them...... Don't worry it confused me too. Lol
Needless to say we spent the rest of the day where?
Yes you got it in one THE POOL!! Lol

Palma Majorca

We stopped on board today and just for a change we went to the pool... I'm sure we'll all have shrunk by the time we get back lol.
Later yesterday evening we went to the ice show, it was amazing it was called Strings and is very much like a fairy tale.
They all were transfixed especially Gemma who never took her eyes off the skaters.
So we had a late night last night and didn't get to bed till 10 o'clock.
Tomorrow it's Alicante and they don't want to get off, no need to say were they want to go LOL.

It's not just me !!

Well it's not just me that's tired, last night after the open top bus ride around Barcelona and an afternoon in the pool we went for dinner then a couple of drinks.
Then we were going to the show which was a circus show, but the kids all decided they wanted to go to bed. RESULT!! ;-)

Cannes

Yesterday we visited Cannes, we took the tender from the ship to the port the sea was quite calm, not like the last time we did it in rough seas, when all the adults were paying for their lives and Aimee was say oooo it's hold my belly time.
She was only two at the time, so I don't think she'd be as calm now LOL.
When in Cannes we took the little train which gives you a tour of the town, not that there's much to see there, but it is a pretty town and we can say we've been now.
After that we went back to the ship and guess what we went in the pool once again, when I say we I mean the kids who then played the guilt card with me and got me in there again, good I'm bloody knackers LOL.
I've never known kids love water so much, then again it does save Josh having to get a shower LOL.

Johnny Rockets

I forgot to mention we went to Johnny Rockets the other day, my good the burgers are big and they just keep bringing onion rings and fries till you tell them to stop.
The kids loved it check out the picture, josh had the biggest one on the menu and managed about half of it, Gemma had a good go at her regular burger, but Aimster didn't like her chicken burger.
As usual the milk shakes were amazing.
Needless to say we didn't need any tea that night lol.

Gibraltar

We were going to take the cable car up the rock, but the queue was to long so we got a minibus instead.
It was a good trip we saw the pillars of hercules and the coast of Africa, then St Michaels cave, which was amazing.
Finally up to the top and the apes.
Josh and Gem loved it but Aimee and Nic were scared stiff and stayed in the bus.
It was a good laugh though.
We then went back to the town and did some shopping, I say we I mean Sheila and Nic, the kids and I went back to the ship and went to the pool.
The three of them would spend all their time in there if you let them.
They had a ball as you can see from the picture.
Btw all three of them have been brilliant.

You learn something new every day.

Arrives at Southampton in good time, straight to the front of the diamond queue.
Sorted I thought, till the nice lady asked if the children were ours...."no" we replied with a big smile "they are our lovely grandchildren."
That's when the problem started...."have you got official written authorization to take them out of the country?"
"Your joking!!!" says I, "nope" says she, "no letter no kids can go".
Anyway to cut a very long story very short, we had to phone Ronald, Sarah and Neeta and get them to take a photo of their passports and a photo of an authorization letter and send them to us by picture message.
What a palarva!!!
All I can say is thank god for mobile phones!!! Lol
Anyway first day over and the kids are having a ball.

God I'm knackered....

We did the picture hunt yesterday, took about two hours, so it tired the kids out a bit, but it tired me more lol.
After the first two pictures Gemma started to cry, saying she'd never get one right because the other two were to fast for her.
So we made her official marker.
That did the trick, she was made up, but it added about half an hour to the game, lol.
Later as the weather was nice the had an hour in the pool.
God do they love water!
The weather although nice was far to cold for me Sheila or Nic to go in with them so we just watched.
They had a ball.
Then we all went to see the ice show which was amazing, the kids couldn't take their eyes off the skaters.
Later on we went to see the show with the singers and dancers.
They loved that too, Gemma sat on my knee as she couldn't see properly, she was bouncing along to all the fast songs.
Anyway after that we went to the pub and had a drink, then as we were all knackered we went to bed, this was about 9.30.
Me Sheila and Nic are going to need another holiday after this LOL.

Days at sea

This is the second sea day so no pool for the kids again.
I've done a picture hunt for them, I've photographed different parts of the ship and later this morning their task is to explore the ship and find what I've photographed.
Obviously with me in tow.
They're actually looking foreword to it.
They had a game of air Hocky yesterday I think Aims was overall winner, but watching Gemma was the highlight she was a scream.
On the way out of the arcade they picked up the guitars on the guitar hero game, just look at Josh's face he thinks he's a real rock star....lol

One week to go

Well it's almost here, I pick the car up on Friday. The kids are really excited, if you mention the cruise to Gemma, she jumps up and down with excitement. Can't wait myself.

Seems to be taking forever to arrive

This cruise seems to be taking for ever to arrive. I think I'm more excited than the grandkids lol. Just need Josh's passport then all set. Oh yes Aimee has asked me to put a countdown timer on her computer...lol.

Nic and 3 grandkids

All set for the trip with Sheila Nic Me and 3 grandkids, Aimee, Josh and Gemma.
We've got 3 cabins with an adult and one child in each.
I've got Josh, Sheila has Gemma and Nic has Aimee.
The kids are really looking forward to the trip especially the pools and the kids water park on the ship...can't wait myself..LOL
